What's more, you can enjoy it all from your seat aboard your train, experiencing what it would have been like for passengers to travel on the line all those years ago...

Itinerary

Step back in time with us and experience the romance of travel in bygone times as you pass through picturesque countryside, beautiful forest and historic towns.  We are both the longest heritage railway in Essex and the closest to London, easily accessible via the tube network. We're also the only heritage line that runs on a former part of the tube network!

From the local area the coach will head to Essex, arriving at 'North Weald Station' at 11.30hrs.  

Start your visit by taking your morning coffee/tea in the Anglia Coach (Not Included)

Boarding commences at 12.30hrs and sit in your reserved carriage, you can get a drink from the on board bar to take to your reserved seat (additional cost).

At 13.00hrs the Steam Locomotive departs for Ongar -  sit back and enjoy the countryside views on your way to Ongar passing through the now closed Blake Hall Station, London Underground's least used station with only 6 passengers a day

The train arrives at Ongar Station at 13.15hrs - this is where your Fish & Chips are served at your table, you can watch the  Steam Locomotive being uncoupled and prepared for its return trip to North Weald

The train departs Ongar at 13.35hrs for its return trip arriving at North Weald 13.50 when it arrives at North Weald your Ice cream dessert will be served

At 14.30hrs you will leave the Steam Train transfer to other platform to use bathroom facilities before getting the DMU to Epping Forest . Take a look around the railway shop for your souvenir of the day, or visit signal box (if no training).

The Diesel DMU train departs at 15.05hrs  - for a picturesque trip through parts of Epping Forest (there are no platforms so you cannot alight) it returns to North Weald Station 15.25hrs.

The coach will collect you from North Weald Station at 15.45hrs to head back to the local area.
