Shakespeare Distillery Tour

After joining the coach at your chosen point we head for our destination - Stratford Upon Avon. The driver will advise you of your expected arrival time after they have left their last local departure point. 

You will have free time for lunch and to explore before the coach transfers you to the 'Shakespeare Distillery'. Your tour is booked at 15.00hrs.  The coach will depart at 16.30hrs to head back to the local area.

Ever wondered how gin is made? Join us for a fun and informative tour around the working distillery in Stratford upon Avon. You will discover how gin is made, learn about its history, and experience the many different ingredients they use. Followed by a tutored tasting of at least 3 Shakespeare Distillery spirits, finishing with a Gin & Tonic. Tour Duration - 1hr 15mins.

THE SHAKESPEARE DISTILLERY - Shakespeare Distillery is an artisan spirit producer, established in 2015. Everything they produce is in small handcrafted batches, ensuring they devote their time and attention to creating the best tasting spirits around.

Being based in Stratford upon Avon, they wanted to create something authentic to the local area and what is more authentic to than Shakespeare? They looked at the Tudor period in which he lived and brought the essence of this into the spirits, the first of which is Stratford Gin.

The Tudor period was a significant time for spirit production, it was a time of change, the monasteries had a stranglehold on distillation (the process used to create an alcoholic spirit) and its primary purpose in their hands was medicinal. Thanks to Henry VIII’s dissolution of the monasteries the Tudor period became a time of great discovery, experimentation and innovation within the world of spirit production as people soon discovered it could be a very nice recreational drink too. 

At Shakespeare Distillery they aim to recapture this period of innovation by fusing traditional and in some cases forgotten ingredients with modern techniques to create exciting new spirits.
