Enjoy a leisurely day out at Buckingham Palace, this is a combined visit to the State Rooms with a guided tour of the Garden.
The Garden Highlights Tour includes the beautiful Herbaceous Border; the wisteria-clad summer house and Rose Garden, the enormous Waterloo Vase and the Palace tennis court, where King George VI and Fred Perry played in the 1930's.
The State Rooms lie at the heart of the Palace and provide the setting for ceremonial occasions and official entertaining. They are furnished with many of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection, including paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens and Van Dyck, sculpture by Canova, exquisite examples of Sevres porcelain, and some of the finest English and French furniture in the world.
To celebrate the 200th anniversary of Queen Victoria’s birth, a special exhibition, Queen Victoria’s Palace, will tell the story of how the young queen transformed Buckingham Palace from a private house into a working royal residence. Together with Prince Albert, she made Buckingham Palace a rallying point for the nation, a powerful symbol of the British Monarchy, and a family home for their nine children.
Between the mutimedia tour of the State Rooms and the guided tour of the garden, there will be time to take in the view of the lawn from the Garden Cafe and to visit the Garden Shop.
