From 26 October 2018 to 6 January 2019, A Royal Wedding: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex  will form part of your visit to Windsor Castle. This special exhibition will feature the wedding outfits worn by the couple at their wedding in May 2018.

Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world. It has been the family home of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years. It is an official residence of Her Majesty The Queen, whose standard flies from the Round Tower when she is in residence.

There is a lot to see and do at Windsor Castle, so please allow enough time to make the most of your visit. We suggest between 2½ and 3 hours. The Castle is at the top of a steep hill, and the visitor route covers long distances. You are advised to wear comfortable shoes.

The Christmas display at Windsor Castle will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the restoration of the Castle following the devastating fire of November 1992.  The State Apartments will be decked with glistening gold decorations inspired by the intricate gilding work that was undertaken to restore the Castle's interiors to their former glory.

The highlight of the display will be the magnificent 20-foot-high Nordmann Fir tree in St George's Hall, taken from Windsor Great Park and entirely dressed in gold decorations.
